There is always some well known person or celeb croaks it on Christmas Day.
Can we have lashings of bonus points for guessing who it is (not including Shamen Scroat of course because he already knows)
I'll kick off with BB KIng

    Death Bingo.

I think this would be more fun.

Take a 3x3 grid, put the name of a celebrity in each square. However you're only allowed someone less than 50 years old in the center square, and the corner squares must be people under 70.

Name your teams, and good luck. First to get three in a line wins.

I'm sticking to Mandela, but will throw in Justin Beiber as my long shot.

And as for the Christmas Day croaker, I'm thinking Thatcher will opt for the maximum impact that would give.

@Jeni B. My sentiments exactly. We should ask Quincy M.D. to figure it out! Oh hang on...

Surely the fact not one of us thought to mention Jack Klugman is more than just a Quincy-dence?

Hmmm, according to twitter 'Stormin' Norman' has died.
Oddly, so has Fontella Bass, and I can't ever recall seeing them in the same room.

And to get the joke in ahead of time...

The good news is George Bush has died. The (relatively) bad news is it's the first one.

On page one I chose George Bush Sr and Dennis Healey, starting to feel triumphant. If Doris Lessing goes as well that'll be a hat trick.

But let's be honest the one we're all waiting for is Thatcher.

@ bpr. I had a triple on Dennis Healey, Mandella and Helmut Schmidt. See previous page. My money was on Mandella getting there first though.

    Edit: Healey still with us?

Good odds on that triple BJ!

So we've had newsworthy with Stormin Norman, TV icon with Patrick Moore, Sporting with Tony Greig.... I suppose it'll be a TV celebrity/pundit before teh end of the year ... the runes woul make it Sir Brucie (already taken as well) but Im not so sure .... I plump for John Craven

I guess it's up to your umpire to mention Tony Greig here.. Great cricketer, great England captain, great commentator - we shall miss him.

No jokes from me on a sad day, but a need to pay my tribute, however tiny.

Yes indeed ump. Livened things up as a player and a commentator. And right up there contending for a place in the top three South African England test players.

I just love watching the Aborigines that Australia insist on playing.
