Did anyone else cringe to see what a bish BBC2 made of this? Bleak Expectations was such a treat on the steam wireless. Same writer, starrier cast but somehow ...

Erm...other way round for me. The radio show irritated me as it was a bit too twee. This, on the other hand, was more surreal and better for it. I think it was only me that liked it, though.

For me, TV got so caught up in the costumes, whiskers, sets and all the rest of the visual stuff,ooops they clean forgot to put in the jokes.

I enjoyed the dialogue, particularly the urchins. And the really big clock was funny, for some reason. Apparently they're making some more? It was funnier than Katherine Twat, anyway.

Watched it for less than 2 minutes before deciding it was shit. Should have known - anything with that Webb bloke in it is dross.
