In case anyone is interested NewsBiscuit was plugged much better than the book I was supposed to be promoting when I went on Radio Scotland's comedy cafe this lunchtime.

The experience was rather tainted for me by leaving the BBC studios at exactly the same time as Nick Griffin. The men waiting for his autograph were soooo normal. I think Griffin may step down from politics after feeling the power of the disapproving glare I gave him.

Don't worry, I shall purchase a copy of your new book on my way home this evening. It seems the least that I can do, after you effectively ended your broadcasting career - while selflessly promoting NB - by dropping a gert great B-bomb on prime time BBC Radio Scotland. Not sure Oxy will be too enamoured with being labelled, " a young Turk" either?

P.S. Is it just me, or is this Limmy character not that funny?

I listened to the whole show and found it interesting, especially when JOF had his own microphone gaff saying "...bastard..." live on air.

You can hear the start of JOF's faux pas at 37m 39secs.

Top stuff John, excellent interview.
For someone who genuinely had a book to plug you were most restrained.
Just two - I repeat - just two mentions for the book throughout the whole 45 minute broadcast....whereas NewsBiscuit got a whopping 14 plugs.
Didn't reckon much to the Mullet of Kintyre bloke.
Dads Army is a sweet and gentle sitcom, embrace it for what it is.
Doubt they will be talking about Frankie Boyle in 40 years time.

Great performance, I believe from listening to my Scottish relatives that the 'B' word is quite low down on the list of naughty words (they even have their own ones we don't use).

That Lemmy bloke was much funnier when he was in Motorhead.
The story about the advertising agency didn't travel well I thought.
