Scottish wind turbine program derailed by ‘wrong sort of wind’.

Nice. Just seen the pictures of 'exploding' windmills. I've seen pictures from exploded ones in the US, but I wasn't sure they were real. Anyone remember the crank on Dragon's Den who claimed he'd got a design of gearbox that could withstand the torque?
He was all torque.
Suggestion: Scottish wind turbine program blown off course by ‘wrong sort of wind’.
Given that they want to cover vast swathes of my country in these bloody useless wind-turbines, I hope today has made them think twice.
Only here would you find the bloody turbines turned off in a hurricane!
So, they don’t work when it’s freezing cold but there’s no wind, and if there’s loads of wind they blow up, and each one needs a subsidy of £200,000.00 a year from the taxpayer. Still, if it saves a polar bear, it’s worth it.
JFR, you are sooooo right.
