'you could have swore it was there when i left, this was the statement that night watchman derek earthenware told police when there was a reported art theft at the tate modern last night...
'how on earth could they have stolen it, it was huge, they were all there, but now gone'... tracey emin was glad though because the schemeing criminals had decided to leave her work... it was over heard that traceys work although a great drawer and artist that it maybe it was becoming samey, an art reference used only by those in the know... anyway although derek had reported the missing works they were in fact imediately found when the electric power was turned back on... apparently there had been a power cut during the night and it was then reported that throughout the country more than half of our contemporary art disappeared... nicholas serota head of the tate said ' this was always going to happen one day with the amount of video art now being shown due to its ease of transportation but it does exist i am sure of that and although it phyically cant be touched it is real'... mr tate was seen being carried away shouting 'i believe in miracles', perhaps a reference to hot chocolates single i believe in miracles that got to number one in the uk chats 1975.
