Scotland prepares for panda arrival; deep fried bamboo waiting

And I see that BBC News 24 has just cut live to the airport, so we can watch the 'plane land. Live. On the tarmac. With a big Panda logo alongside the 'Fedex' on the fuselage. Live. On taxpayer funded BBC. Live. So we don't miss it (live). Thank goodness it landed safely - 'on Scottish soil' apparently. Well tarmac to be more precise. Either way 'Phew!'. Now I can put the roast in the oven in the knowledge that all is well. At the airport. Live.
The 'live' thing used to drive me up the wall - seeing some poor sap standing in the rain outside Downing Street or Parliament, just for the sake of conveying a spurious and facile immediacy to an opinion that would have been conveyed just as effectively from a studio. Now, I just watch in the hope that someone in the background falls over or 'flips the bird’ at the camera.
Have some stars, by the way.
