Word has now emerged about yesterday’s private conversation between Gordon Brown and Rochdale pensioner Gillian Duffy. A red-faced Mr Brown apparently was referring to Mrs Duffy’s big hat when he referred to her a “that big-hatted woman”.
Peter Mandelson explained, “Of course Gordon was referring to her wonderfully large hat. I know that you didn’t see her wearing the hat on news coverage, but that is due to a BBC conspiracy. The BBC airbrushed the hat from the footage.”
