A man from Buckinghamshire has been left in shock today, following a visit to the website of his favourite high street baker’s. The man, Mr Smith, quickly popped onto the Gregg’s website to ‘locate a store near him’ when he noticed an option at the bottom of the page that gives members of the general public the opportunity to leave feedback.
‘I had gone on to the site to look for my nearest store, as I do have a weak spot for a certain savoury item,’ Mr Smith, Patron of the Pork Pie Appreciation Society explained. I noticed the ‘Give us your feedback’ option. Not one to shy away from giving critique, I answered all of the options, rating all the areas as good or above. The trouble began when in the ‘any other comments’ box I suggested maybe a little more seasoning would help their humble pork pie be to more people’s taste. I had barely pressed send when a pop up box told me to ’fuck off’
The Greggs website is then reported to have ’flounced’ and any effort to be rational went out of the window. ‘I tried to explain myself, but the site was having none of it’ Mr Smith continued. ‘All it did was continually display a message saying I was wrong, and didn’t know what I was talking about.’
Mr Smith is not the only user to have complained about the sensitive site. A lady from Scotland entered the site's ‘Name a Pasty’ competition. After suggesting the name ‘meat feast’ she was redirected to a page simply displaying the words ‘Don’t take the piss, silly woman’. She is believed to be seeking legal advice.
We spoke to the Communications Director at Greggs. ‘Obviously we apologise for any offence caused by the error on our website. We have changed the title of the link to ‘blow smoke up our arse’ in a bid to stop any confusion’ He told us. ‘However if any of our customers can think of a better title, they are more than welcome to tell someone who gives a shit’
