Speed's wife has released a statement saying that after everything that's happened, they can take consolation from the fact he'll always be looking down on them.

I'll defend your right to write something that's in extremely poor taste. The joke itself was moderately funny, but I think the reason this doesn't go down well is because the unfortunate butt of the joke is a chap who was universally liked. People are less sensitive about more controversial figures.

I was flabbergasted by the roasting I got when I wrote something about most British men finding the kissing/choking erotic and therefore Tabak's defence not being plausible.

Am gradually learning where the line is!
