Sir Alex Ferguson is currently helping the police with their inquires over suggestions that he may have been fixing matches in order to score extra points for his online Fantasy Football team. His online actions had been under scrutiny for several months but the decision to arrest the 69 year old was taken when investigators discovered that just before Manchester United’s home match against Manchester City Sir Alex played his wild card, bringing Djeko and Silva into his team, with Mario Balotelli as captain. Even more suspiciously he also dropped Jonathon Evans, who he had been ever present in his team up until then. It is also suspected that his closest rival for the free online Fantasy Football game had Manchester City keeper Joe Hart in his team, with experts suggesting this explains how Manchester United managed to score their one goal.
Some have scorned the suggestion that a person would chance losing a million pound job and tarnishing a glittering career for a free online game, but Alex Stanson spent just ten minutes next to Mr Ferguson in an internet cafe just outside Old Trafford is in no doubt that he is guilty.
‘He was logged into the game and going through his list of players, telling each one what he wanted them to do. The picture of Mario Balotelli was particularly silly and he had a massive go at him for that. After he left the staff got through half a packet of screen wipes, I’d have just used a hair dryer.’
Sir Alex is currently sitting second in the league, 10 points behind a team called ‘The Special One’ managed by an unknown player. Mr Ferguson has had a very successful Fantasy Football career, he was losing all the way through last season but managed to get some extra points very late on in the final match, when everyone else thought it was over and had logged off.
