Top breeder Mick Dense faces claims that he used a well stocked loft to lure rival pigeons into an avian 'love pad' during weekend race contests. Accusations include attractive hen birds tethered to perches and 'provocatively soliciting' for cock bird's attention as they flew over Mr Dense's pigeon loft. One race steward commented 'Top racing homers are always checking out new talent, it's easier to grab them when they're distracted by smicket and they're worth a lot for breeding'.
Mr Dense shrugs off criticism: 'It's not my fault if a few randy lads drop by my place for a good time'. However, amongst the highly competitive pigeon fanciers and racing fraternity, feathers have been well and truly ruffled over what is now being labelled a 'cash for seed' scandal.
