Government plans to dock £25 a week from benefit claimants who pay fines could encourage them to turn to robbery, according to some experts.
Eight-year-old Amanda Stone explained:
'Say you've got a person on Job Seekers Allowance whose benefit is cut by £25 a week. Well, he might think, 'Hmm, now I don't have much money to buy some food or pay the rent. Or look for a job. So that person might start rioting or robbing by breaking into an old person's bungalow or mugging some one in the street.''
Amanda added:
'It does seem a very silly idea.'
The plan is supported by Prime Minister David Cameron and Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith, both of whom are believed to be grown-ups.

where do you get these "experts" from?
as if these benefit cheats ever think about paying their rent!we should make them (the scroungers, not the experts) live in the boxes that their 58" plasma tv came in! they wouldnt need housing benefit then!

We should increase the benefits of criminals to a level where they feel it's just not worth getting off their sofas and going out to commit a crime.
They could call it "protection" money.Posted 1 year ago #
