Pigeons on the steps of St Pauls Cathedral say they are determined to continue their protest at levels of substinence that they say have been unchanged for almost fifty years. “Tuppence! Tuppence! Tuppence a bag!” wept one pigeon. “It’s chckenfeed! And don’t forget this is a pre-decimilastaion tuppence at that, made even worse by inflation caused by the banking crisis. In real terms, that’s a massive year on year decrease, and many of us were displaced after Ken Livingstone expelled us from Trafalgar Square. The church is as bad as the banks and the politicians."
But David Cameron defended government pigeon policy and claimed widespread support from the public and St Pauls-based saints and apostles. In a statement he said: “Although you can't see it, you know they are smiling, each time someone shows that he cares”
