TV's Jimmy Saville, famous for his Jim'll Fix It show, has been sacked by the BBC for failing to mend a viewer's broken calulator.
'It's the first time in over 40 years that Jim failed to fix anything for anyone, so we had to sack him for breach of contract' said Mark Thompson from the BBC.
'Despite the programme not being aired for over 20 years Jim's been working in the background, catching-up with all the requests he didn't have time to respond to and sorting-out any new requests that came in' added Thompson 'But the calculator saga or Calculatorgate as we call it spells the end of Jim's career.'
Saville himself was aid to be 'Sanguine' about the decision 'The problem is that calculators are quite complicated devices and my knowledge of semi-conductor fabrication technology just isn't up to scratch' said the veteran presenter 'I think the BBC is a bit harsh, after all I did help NASA to fix the space shuttle problems, CERN to fix the magnets in the large hadron colider and Stephen Hawking errors in the first draft of a Brief History of Time.'
