Last night contestants on a Libyan TV celebrity challenge game show were breathing a sigh of relief at not winning the Muammar Gaddafi look-alike section of the competition. The game show has long been a hit on prime time Libyan state TV channels, though organizers were beginning to get concerned on apparent reduction in viewing figures. TV executives put the decline in viewing numbers down to increased numbers being held in detention and for questioning. However state Police pointed out that such shows were an invaluable aid in the interrogation process.
We invited the winner to appear but were told he was unavailable for comment or interview (apparently due to a diary conflict).
