The Prime Minister's plan to invite casual acquaintences of elected officials to join in the decision making process at the highest level was left in tatters today when no-one could be found who would admit to being a friend of Nick Clegg. The Deputiy Prime Minister desperately tried to contact a number of old pals in his Sheffield Hallam constituency, many of whom appeared to have changed their number and gone ex-directory.
Speaking of the failure of Cameron's new approach, retired London taxi driver and part time beekeeper Terry Javelin (said to have once shared a lift with Michael Gove) admitted he was devastated at missing out on the opportunity to join in with crucial forthcoming cabinet debates on immigration, the future of the health service and national security.
