There was a joke going round about a suicide bomber doll. In theory it could talk, but no-one dared pull the cord.

I would just like it known that I've had something along these lines kicking around for a few days now that I'm in the process of writing. The header I have for it is:

'Mattel expands Barbie range into extremist market with new blow-up doll'

Just pointing it out and flag-posting this now as it's such a remarkable coincidence to come on here and see this.

Tell me about it. I came up with the line about a month or so ago and it's sat there with a few other ideas (two of which were my Raarrr!!! and hate figures ones) and only today have I got around to giving it some proper thought.

Among my ideas to work into the sub are a variation on your pull-string gag - although not your "and Boom! and that's £8.99 gone" line which I have to say is great.

I'll still work it up, I just didn't want you to think that, when I do post it, it was merely a result of me reading your piece and then nicking its general thrust.
