In the latest move to pay off the Greek debt mountain, the entire collection of stones from the Parthenon now residing in the British Museum is to go on Ebay with a 'Buy It Now' thought to be around €3.5Billion.
"If we can't have them back then we may as well sell them," explained Greece's Minister for Euro Disaster. "Naturally this is not our preferred choice - we had hoped to lug them along to see what we could get on Dickinson's Real Deal but it just wasn't practical. The online auction is the obvious answer."
The opening bid will be just £0.99, giving collectors a unique opportunity to own something of historic importance that would look nice in anybody's back garden or above the fireplace.
However the Minister warned potential bidders, "You'll need to be able to collect. We don't do shipping any more."
