The mood on Olympus was relaxed – if not amused - by the likelihood that the country that brought humanity civilisation may now be responsible for causing its demise. In a short interview, Zeus’s messenger Hermes said the Gods were taking an active interest in developments in Athens. However a Deus ex Machina appearance by Zeus himself is still thought unlikely.
“If anything the current situation could well be an inspiration for drama and poetry in the future. Especially if the battles on the streets of Athens grow in intensity. It’s the kind of classic stuff that will inevitably find its way into examination syllabuses studied by English public schoolboys.”
But in a comment likely to infuriate the Bundesbank, he added: “Many of the deities find the situation faintly amusing. Descendants of the people who so recently (in Olympian terms) tried to destroy human civilisation may now be destined to save it. Let’s face it - the whole crisis is simply a tiny demonstration of man’s houmous. Don’t put that bit in. I meant hubris. But it is lunchtime, after all.”

I may be wrong, but I believe the Ancient Greeks spoke, well, Ancient Greek rather than Latin.
Nice idea for a sub, btw. Maybe someone can build the idea a little ?

I think there should be a 50% cut in the number of Greek gods on Mount Olympus soon before they run out of nectar and have to go down and earn a living like the mortals. And Zeus' child maintenance payments are killing him.
Cassandra was right, but would anyone listen? Nooooooo

It's understood Zeus has been angered by persistent requests for him to return from his holiday. "We gods are literally and metaphorically above all this," he said through a spokesdeity. These puny, greedy mortals with their obsessions with gold can be swept away as far as I am concerned!" However, as a warning, Helios god of the Sun has reversed the weather between Northern Europe and Greece, and Michael Gove will be turned into a swan on the first day of the Conservative party conference.
