Doom laden claims by the IMF that the economic outlook is the worse since records began have been undermined by the discovery of the Smurf Song; a record of the 1970s.
"I'd quite forgotten", said an IMF spokesman. "But clearly the Smurf Song is a worst record. In fact the 1970s provides several records that would compete with the current state of affairs."
