It was a seriously wrong move that cost him his entire career, but doctor, Harold Shipman, has spoken up from the dead through a medium and said it was appropriate for him to be punished.
Porky Pangham (surely Shipman - ed) said that he had expected people to 'admire' him when he said he had administering lethal overdoses of diamorphine to a couple or more OAP's for research purposes.
The 103-year-old doctor, part time actor and comedian insisted that he had only tested the diamorphine injections as part of his research for a homeopathic character he was developing for the BBC2 drama, Self Help Suicide.
'I thought after (I'd played the character) I'll reveal I'd researched it and people would say "Jolly gosh Harold old boy, you've taken this really difficult subject and done something really amazing with it," The medium had trouble keeping a straight face at this point.
I'll do this thing and everyone will think I'm wonderful. I thought if I pulled it off, everyone would admire me, especially relatives who would inherit the extra money saved by not having to pack their elderly parents off to Dignitas Switzerland.'
'It just happened differently to how I'd expected it to be,' she added on his behalf.
The medium categorically denied that she was being fed information from a shadowy character lurking in the background, who was trying to exonerate his own dirty deeds.
