Kweku Adoboli's attempt to have his name last forever through having a scam named after him has failed. In a ruling from the European Court of Financial Scam Names, his attempt to be nominated in the 2011 Scam Of The Year was also denied
A Court spokesman explains "Scam Naming is a serious business and we concentrate on those that hit the little man hardest. This nomination was a banking industry focussed attempt, much like Nick Leeson's in winning the 1994 Bubble Bursting award, and so ineligible for this category. We are really looking for the next Ponzi or Double-Shah to break through. It has been lean times for the Court given the dearth of major scamming attempts.
It's a shame really as "An Adoboli" would have been a nice tag"
