The 2012 Olympics have been thrown into chaos by the surge in the number of national anthems. A spokesman for the London Symphony Orchestra, who are recording all the anthems for the forthcoming games said, "First it was South Sudan popping up, then Libya decided to have a new one, now everyone's getting in on the act."
New countries and anthems are sprouting up every day; Lego Land, Disneyland, Carpet Land and Furniture Land are recent additions, with Furniture City suggesting that they are sending representatives to the United Nations to register as a city state.
"Furniture City!", exclaimed the spokesman, "If they want people to stand up, they should sell them one of their sofas - nearly did my back in."
