Eddy Miliband (18) is to attempt to triumph after a bout in front of a tough Liverpool audience this week, in the teeth of the doubts of many as to his resilience.
Getting the upper hand and knocking down challenges on jobs, pensions, tuition fees and the economy may floor the untested Eddy, whose older brother was set to seize the victor’s crown only last year. Distinguishing himself from an equally pasty and flaccid opponent, Davy Cameron,58,likely to be hurling tasteless insults from the sidelines, - nothing less than a knockout blow from Ed will satisfy the baying crowd of teachers, bin men and pensioners. Can Eddy crack it? Well, on past form, he probably will crack something, leaving the ring only after being seized by social workers (and other low paid staff) before his brother claims the laurels.
