Supermarket giant Tescos has announced that £500 million is to be targeted to reducing customer prices and, in response to questioning, went on to claim this would be "per customer".
"The simplest way is to use the club card points system. From Monday points will be valued at £10,000. Each Tesco customer will receive an average £500,000 in vouchers per day for the next 3 years." This is expected to impact on the typical shopping basket with less orange juice from concentrate and more aircraft carriers, NHS computer systems and other luxury items.
