Marland's children's zoo in East Sussex may have to regulate contact between young visitors and livestock after health concerns were raised about small children lifting chinchilla rabbits weighing up to five kilos. "We've been increasingly worried about children lifting over their bodyweight in mongoose" said zoo owner Sally Sullivan. "We have also had instances of groups of children trying to lift shire horses."
However, Ms Sullivan said there was "no connection" between the dismissal of three employees and allegations of "inappropriate conduct" with Pam, the zoo's much loved Vietnamese pot bellied pig.
