Oh, now I know what you're writing about. "Gilts" doesn't mean anything to US-ers. Unless, it's like gilt-edged securities, which we would normally call blue chips. See, the incredible comedy gold is that the verb bear and interest go together. (Boy, are bankers boring!)

I'm sure that yours is comedy platinum, though.
