At midnight UK time tonight a man called Troy Davis will be executed in the state of Georgia. The evidence used to convict him of murder was very, very flawed and he has been on Death Row for twenty years.
Sorry to get all serious in a comedy forum but today I'm posting this everywhere.
Please follow this link and send an email. It'll take half a minute and it could save Troy's life.

Didn't click the link because I just assumed it was a spammer, but googled the name. Never usually do anything like this but in this instance for some reason did - through the amnesty international site. Mainly just because there appears to be fairly high level of doubt and American hardliners are fucking stupid ignorant wankers. They voted in George W Bush, for Christ's sake. On the other hand, his parents did call him Troy, and in my experience of youth, children with that name are often wankers. That's obviously not a capital offence, though.

I heard about this on 5Live this morning. I was really upset about his situation and America's apparently flawed justice system.

I just rang the White House which is an oddly thrilling thing to do, damn they've got lovely people working the phones there. I asked Obama to halt the execution of Troy Davis. When do you ring the White House? Never? Change that right now. It only takes a minute and it could save someone's life.
Don't know why but I felt the need to talk in a very posh accent - regular accent is merely quite posh - when I was on the line. I've rung Parliment before quite a few times and it's just meh, but chatting to the White House felt kinda special. I blame the West Wing it's confused me.
