Would be comedians and second rate satirists were cheering loudly today after much maligned comic Michael McIntyre proved just how right they all are to question his comic timing by quitting as a judge on the nation's most watched TV show 'Britain’s Got Talent'.
The 35 year old entertainer, derided over the years by failed stand-ups and two bit comedians from Land’s End to John O’Groats has decided to stand down from BGT following hurtful remarks made by some bloke down the pub who told his mate he thought McIntyre was ‘shite’
McIntyre felt he had little choice but to walk away from the hit TV show and concentrate on his three month, 58 date sell out tour of the UK, before the rest of the 12.5 million regular viewers to the show started to agree with the comments made by the bloke down the pub.
Although McIntyre hosts several of the most influential and succesful stand-up comedy shows on TV and is the winner of numerous awards, many of the UKs finest on-line satirists - particularly those who chose to contribute their comic material to one of the free-to-view websites - have all been saying what the bloke down the pub said - for years.
Nearly all the satirists questioned say they would be furious if McIntyre used one of their gags in his routine and warned that he should continue writing his own material for the packed houses he plays to and should not even consider using one of their child-like puns .
As we speak, many are already tapping away at their keyboards, rubbing their hands with glee and aiming some hilarious sleight at Britain’s most admired comedian...no doubt meaning yet another sleepless night for the millionaire comic.
McIntyre confirmed he is not sure what he will do once the sell out tour is over and has admitted to friends he is torn between promoting the multi-million selling blockbuster DVD that will be filmed during the tour or going back to university to finish his biology degree.
Although McIntyre claims he does not read any of the comments made about him on any of the free-to-publish websites we suspect he may well be logging in at any moment to see what they are saying about him in the chatrooms.
That’s Mr. McIntyre to you, fuckwit.

I think McIntyre is funny.

Me too Des, I think he is very funny and probably a good bloke to have a beer with...I think we can all agree he didn't get where he is today by shagging the producer

Brilliant. I was prepared for yet another dig at him, and here's the opposite! It bugs me how much flak he gets, especially when the comedians mocking him Aren't Funny Any More

I think he is really brave the way he stands up to the criminal fraternity.

The thought of micheal mcintyre infultrating italian mafia is genius. He would confuse them into submission, 'all that mince but no bolognaise?'

He achieved what he has through talent, likeability, hard work and appealing to a wide audience. What's so terrible about that?

Talent, likeability hard work and wide appeal sure, but is he English? Or even British?

I think like anything a degree of elitism creeps in sometimes. His stuff may not be liked by other 'comedians' but Joe Public seems happy enough.
Same with James Corden - apparently hilarious in One Man, Two Guvnors, but derided here.
I know how they feel...
