The gardening idyll of a little shed in which everyone could grow their own Sophie Dahl may well be a pipe dream, after Law Lords decided two to one that growing “Dahl”, even for private use, may be unlawful. The Dahl family, originally imported from Scandinavia, is known to be a powerful stimulant, with giant fruit and tiny factory workers appearing to many users, some of them children. But the new widely publicised Dahl known as “Sophie” leads to powerful cravings to buy needless cookery books, as well as the more traditional urges to eat Curly Wurlies.
