Columbia Pictures yet again announced to the Hollywood industry press that a sequel to the classic feel-good comedy Groundhog Day is already in the works and set for release in early 2013.
With Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell already on board, studio executives were said to be 'excited' to return to this much-loved movie and satisfy the growing audience demand for a follow-up as the 20th anniversary of the original approaches.
Co-writer and director of the 1993 release, Harold Ramis, is also thought to be keen to get involved in the project, tentatively titled 'Groundhog Day All Over Again', and has approved the use of the entire original screenplay for what will be essentially a frame-by-frame remake with the original set, crew, cast and caterers.
