In a finale to the tenth-anniversary remembrance events, former President George Bush appeared in front of a group of schoolchildren to listen to kids stories, while an aide whispered in his ear and the president pretended to look clueless and completely out of his depth. After five minutes the aide reappeared with the famous second whispered message "Dick Cheney says he's in charge, you can go and wet yourself off-camera".
Watchers of the event said that it was a fitting reminder to the tragedy, and brought back Bush's actions on that day so memorably.
This will be George W. Bush's last public appearance until the Hurricane Katrina remembrance event, in which the US president and others will attend a ceremony in New Orleans, while George Bush watches out of an aeroplane window from a safe distance.
