“We did it by way of a thank you.” Said Dale Farm traveller Mick O’Ruff, who can trace his Romany ancestry back to before he was born. “It was hard work, getting them limestone slabs up but we did a good job. That tarmac must be a quarter inch thick in places. On top of that we’ve given the lovely lady a special price for us to go back and finish the other half.”
“I’ve always been a big admirer of Venessa.” He added. “I bought all her records back in the 60s”

Was it, by any strange chance, 'a bit o' surplus from the roadworks'? And surely they included 6 or even 7 white chippings 'to finish it off right lovely'. And up to a quarter of an inch? Such extravagance

2 observations
One - it must have been a busy week at work for me not to clock this one
Two - I am married to a true Romany who can trace her lineage back several generations, all of whom were decent, if not, higher ranked Czech nobility and I find this sub deeply, deeply funnyNot since Little Britain pushed up a pic of David Essaex and uttered the line "he has that glint in his eye that says, Im going to tarmac your drive" have I had decent wind up material for her
Now if you will excuse me, Im off to catch a couple of hedgehogs for tomorrow's dinner
