Appalled by week’s riots, residents of Kentish Town have renewed their petition to the Boundaries Commission to have their community moved back to Kent.
Community leader Eric Dixon said that plans were well advanced and the space vacated by moving to the Garden of England would be occupied by an ‘exciting retail development’ which would provide funding for the move. ‘Once we have established ourselves in our rightful place,' he continued, ‘we will drop our vague ‘Kentish’ tile and be proudly known as Kent Town forever more.
As to the exact location of Kent Town, Mr Dixon said, ‘Somewhere near Canterbury would be rather nice, but that rather depends upon where the Tube Station can be rebuilt.’
