offlineMemberI knew a girl back in the late 80's. I was working as a stage hand at my local theatre. She was a dancer in the panto. Pretty little thing. 16 years old. She had part English, part Chinese parentage and she had the prettiest eyes. Very captivating. She was a sweet kid, no pretensions, not stuck up like many of the other girls. Most of us chaps loved her, in a big brotherly protective sort of way.
We all moved on and I didn't see her or even think of her for many years.
Last year I heard of her again. She had become a qualified surgeon who had quit working for a high paying private medical organisation to go and work with the poor of Afghanistan trying to reduce the high levels of infant mortality.
While travelling in the Badakhshan region her team was stopped by the Taliban and all but one of them was killed. Karen was shot twice in the back and died at the scene.
When I heard, I cried.
So no, I don't think there's a god.

It's almost as if you're trying to deliberately irritate people...
Either that or you actually think there is a god who wholly approves of mass murder of thousands of people with him being used as an excuse, in which case it might be an idea to seek help.
I think wallster has answered this pretty well with his story of a genuinely good person trying to make a difference and being murdered by somebody who thinks that's what their god would want.
