Fanatical believers in Marmite have already begun making pilgrimages to Turin, after a tourist spotted an image that could be interpreted as a toast stain on a holy shroud.

I like this ! Sure you can pull a full story out of it. What about British and Australian scientists arguing if it's Marmite or Vegemite. Carbon dating burnt toast. Riot police posted at the church for scuffles between marmite lovers and haters etc.

Forensic examination has established that it is indeed burnt toast and yeast extract, but has raised new question about the Shroud's authenticity. 'For a start,' commented one scientist, 'what's this label on it saying 'Souvenir Shroud-Style Tablecloth'?'
