A man who had been banned from his local Indian restaurant for wandering into the kitchen instead of staying in his seat has been allowed back in. Mr. Alexander Graham was initially asked to get out of the Taj Mahal restaurant in Oldham because he was absent from his table as his meal was being served. However, the decision to order him out has now been overturned.
“All I wanted was my tea,” Mr. Graham said. “It looked like it wasn’t coming so I set off in search of it myself. My mate told me to get back to my seat but I was absolutely starving and decided to do something about it. Maybe I was a bit foolish but I was very shocked to be told to get out.”
Management of the Taj Mahal defended the initial action. “Mr. Graham was technically in the wrong and we were completely within our rights to ask him to leave,” said Mr M.D. Singh, who runs the restaurant. “Normally for us, ‘out’ means ‘out and stay out’ but on this occasion and after discussion, we decided to reconsider.
“On reflection, we felt that the decision we had made was perhaps not in the right spirit and therefore Mr. Graham has been welcomed back in.”
Mr Singh denied that Mr Graham’s well-connected big brothers Fletch and Johann had had any influence on the happy outcome.
