You'd think it'd be more helpful...

Like it 3*
(And not just because it is about cake)
And yes, I am a sponger.Posted 1 year ago # -
3 stars is kind of like a slow hand-clap, writinginbsl...
On the surface it may seem almost as good as a round of applause, but it comes across as faint praise.
If you want your opinions to mean anything, it should be a turbo-charged 5 if it made you laugh, or a 1 if it made you want to smash your computer and send the author the bill.
I know what you're thinking...I'm not sure what 2, 3 and 4 are there for either, except to highlight how polarised ones opinions are on these crucial matters.

Thank you Golgo 13. I didn't like to say anything.
The cake fell out of the cupboard and hit me, whilst I was looking for breakfast cereal. And so the story began.

I always though one star was better than none. Now I will have to go back and see what I have done to upset Golgo and reproduce it.

I recently experimented with giving 4* ratings to stuff that I quite liked, but didn't like as much as other stuff I'd given 5* to. But then I felt like I was being harsh, so changed them to 5* ratings instead.
5* for this by the way, now that I've finally worked it out.

I really only give a 1-star if it is truly awful or offensive*. If you've ever had a 1-star, beau-jolly, it isn't from me.
*I also 1-star my own subs if they get used and they're on the Top Ten list. Makin' some room...

Do you do that to others too Golgo? I've noticed stuff dropping out of the top 10 once it has been used and thought maybe it was some kind of official NB policy to make room for new subs.
Although at the moment mine seem to get voted down as soon as they get into the top 10, whether they've been used or not. I'm starting to think I've upset somebody.

It was the surprise as much as anything.

No...I started doing my own subs because I got sick of the sight of them, the joke wearing thinner as each hour passed, and I worried that others might too.
But odd movements do happen don't they...ronseal's "Do the sheikh and hack" one-liner was at #1 this morning then sank without a trace and I'm not sure that one even got used. That has to be a 1-star (or more than one 1-star) to do that.

Heck-this is complicated.
I thought it was...
1=really good; 2=really really good; 3=really really really good...etc.
I am delighted to get even ONE star.Auntie-why the hell was the cake in the cupboard anyway? It should be on your plate, or even better just eat it out of the box...
If a cake fell out of a cupboard in my house I think the shock would kill me. If the cupboard itself fell down that would not suprise me.

Like Michelin stars? As a hot lesbian, I think this is different.
I think if you hover your cursor over the stars, at least with some browsers, it tells you that 1=poor, 2=works, ...5 = excellent.
