Try Warrington, ancestral home of Chris Evans, Kerry Katona and Rebekah Brooks. Must be a candidate for the country's most depressing place. On the plus side, it used to be worse.

Not to mention Mel C. Sod it, I just mentioned her.

First impression of Warrington on arrival by train is the massive Persil factory right in front of you. The famous Wire Factory was demolished a few years ago. Apart from those, can anyone think of anything memorable about the place ?

Unless anyone can think of somewhere more depressing ?
