Brazilian side Corinthians are confident they can persuade Carlos Tevez to join them if they can sit down and show him where Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Manchester actually are on a map.
The Argentine has continually stated his desire to be close to his children and Corinthians feel that their being on the same continent as his family gives them a huge advantage over their rivals.
However, although Tevez has expressed this aim for several years now he has never been able to achieve this seemingly simple ambition. Those closest to him have put this down a ‘very poor grasp of geography’.
A concerned friend of Tevez said, ‘The lad has had a few bad experiences in the past. Garry Cook was right to tell him that City was closer to Argentina than United and being a trusting type he took Cook at face value. But two and half miles wasn’t going to make much difference on a round trip to Buenos Aires, particularly as the airport is in the other direction.’
‘Then he tried to engineer a move to Milan which would only have knocked another ten miles off. What someone needs to do is sit down with the lad and have a proper discussion with him about distance and scale.’
Corinthians are convinced they can land their man if they can find someone to do just that. A spokesperson for the club said, ‘If he really does want to be closer to his family then surely we’re the only club he can sign for.’
‘Unless there was some other reason for all those multi-million pound transfer requests?’

A joke that will please anyone with 'O-Level' geography grade 'C' or above

I haven't got O-Level geography and I still liked it.
But that's because they were called GCSEs when I was at school.

Sorry. Didn't mean to be elitist and exclude the non-geographers.
