Westminster City Council have recently announce that they will not continue with plans to extend the duration between wheelie bin collections to once a fortnight, but have instead suggested an increase to daily collections.
“Since the election of the Con-Dem government our bins have been overflowing with discarded policies, white papers and MPs reputations.” An overwhelmed member of the council continued, “Every day this government is proposing new half-baked ideas which are turned into policies and press releases before ending up in the skip before the end of the day.
“Most of these ideas are worse than a fishnet condom, and don’t get me started on the curry packets pilling up outside Eric Pickles’ office.”
Environmental groups have hit out at the government for not making more use of the recycling bins around the Houses of Parliament. But a spokesman for the Prime Minister commented that:
“We are doing as much as we can; most of these policies have already been recycled from the Thatcher administration.”
