David and Victoria Beckham have chosen the name for their new baby girl. ‘Princess Dumpling Fatty Pants’ may not have been the bookies favourite but the happy parents are ‘pleased’ with their choice.
In an interview with OK magazine, Victoria said, “We had thought of naming her after one of our favourite two bridges but Sydney Harbour Bridge and Bridge on the River Kwai didn’t quite do it for us. After that we looked at Shakespearean characters but couldn’t find any names for the three witches in Macbeth. So that was a bit of a tragedy.”
Friends and family had assumed that the baby girl would be named Melody in honour of her mother’s delightful singing voice, but there was evidently clear opposition from David who has recently installed sound proofing in the shower.
Pundits believe that it was the couple's three sons who were finally given permission to name their little sister. A family insider said that Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are said to be ecstatic with the choice and are looking forward to greeting her with her new name.
