It won't stop there, they'll get addicted to campaigning for independence if they win. 20 years from now you'll find Scotland split into 5 separate countries and each of them blaming the others for everything that's wrong.

5*

As long as we don't have to take Glasgow with us.

I'm sorry but I'm sure that Scottish Independence includes Glasgow. No takebacks.

Pretty funny, although I don't want to offend Jeni.

They can keep that tennis bloke too. He's rubbish.

Could be like the west Berlin Enclave. Except people would be trying to get out.
Anyway now that we have had all of your oil, could we have your water?

I think you'll find that the weaker splinters will sign a treaty to support the English crown in return for assistance to defeat its enemies. Slowly and surely, strife and division will cause more and more Scots will swear fealty to the English until a final showdown will extinguish Scottish Independence for another 500 years.

I'd love to step outside, it's nice and sunny out there. Just let me grab an ice cream and a beer first.

Morning everyone, lalalaa. Hmmm, I wonder what happened to that blue touchpaper I lit yesterday...

It's all gone quiet because Scotland went independent years ago but kept it a closely guarded secret. Did you bring it up because somebody's blabbed about the free health care, the free prescriptions, the free education and the lovely oil?

Not to mention our renewable energy through wind and tide, plus the fact that a great deal of our electricity has been 'green' hydro-energy for decades.
Then there's our fantastic scenery, diverse flora and fauna....oops, that was a secret too, wasn't it?Posted 1 year ago # -
...but on the other hand there's Frankie Boyle. Hmmm, too close to call...

Which brings me back to my point about Glasgow...

Surely time the English had a vote to decide to shed them...if you had a tartan winnit matted and dangling from your arse hair for 500years, you'd be glad to clip it off and release yourself from the persistent anal irritation too.

...except not financially independent. Not by a long shot. The English are paying over the odds for the free health care, lack of tuition fees etc., enjoyed by the Scots.

Talking out of your arse again John.
Will see if I can find the recent report which was commissioned by the Westminster Govt which shows what tosh you're talking.
Posted 1 year ago # -
The Westminster Govt commissioned a report on whether JohnA is talking tosh? Don't they have better things to do?
Posted 1 year ago # -
John A seems to think it's a bad thing that the Scots are taking the English for every penny they can get...

Can't for the life of me find the study.
I've asked an economist friend to have a look for me, since he was the person who first told me about it.
Apparently though, I was mistaken in thinking it was Westminster which commissioned it, it was apparently Oxford.
As soon as I find it, I'll post a link to it.But in the meantime, consider this- where are you going to turn to when your water runs out?
Posted 1 year ago # -
If we run out of water, we can always drink Irn Bru.
Oh hang on...

Scotland will fall as soon as Buckfastleigh Tonic Wine is banned for export. Discuss
Posted 1 year ago # -
I think you'll find John that only one particular area has a high consumption of Buckfast.

But once the bottles run dry, the denizens of that one place will fan out in all directions...

They'd never get beyond the central belt.
Edinburgh would have snipers situated at strategic points ready to take them down.We can't possibly allow any inter-breeding between east coast gadgies and west coast neds, and can only hope that survival of the fittest will finally kick in.
