Al, looking for something historial that had "ass" in it. Should have used super-sexy 98 years young Joan Collins.

"honestly, how many times do you think people click on ads from this site? That's where the money comes from"
Is that true? Does NB only get money for the ads if people click on them? If that's the case then I'll start clicking on them to do my bit.

Good point, a lot of people put in unpaid work on this place in the background, and I doubt that the ad revenues do much more than help to cover the site costs for the Ed. A quick 'Thankyou' to them all.

FAG - Yup. Plenty of good subs get overlooked for no obvious reason. Always worth a try re-submitting later unless they were too topical.
VTG - Yes, they do, but not enough to cover the costs of the site. At least that's the reason given for not paying the writers.

Oh Oxy, Oxy. Bless you dear boy for your self confidence. Not sure you picked up quite what I meant.

Just read back through this and re-read Qoxiivi's comment that:
"People will find the same joke funnier when told by someone they’re expecting to find funny (and are receptive to finding funny) than when told by someone they dislike or are indifferent too."
Now I generally agree with that - I find Ross Noble hilarious, but don't like Russell Brand. So if Ross Noble told a joke that made me laugh, and then Russell Brand told the exact same joke, I wouldn't laugh, I'd think "You just stole that joke off Ross Noble, you smug, irritating twat".
But I actually find it works the other way on here. If I see something from a more established writer like Ludicity, Darkbill, jp1885 etc. I expect it to be funny, so hold it to a higher standard, and am therefore sometimes less impressed with it than if a newcomer had posted it.

I'd have an opinion on the topic of this post but that would never do

I have given your original statement a good deal of consideration and in my humble opinion I think you may have a point, but then again you might not. I think it's important to have a sense of humour if writing a sub, nay, even considering writing a sub, and I don't come to this site without having given my sense of humour very serious consideration indeed. I hope to continue this line of enquiry at another time but my dinner's getting cold.

Climate change anyone?

Why would we want to talk about climate change Al? It's all a lie, haven't you heard?

I have given the matter further consideration. I think it can be either what is written or who writes it, but in your case it is neither.

JohnA - you are a rubbish troll. We've had much better trolls than you, and they weren't much good.Posted 1 year ago # -
In my humble opinion it was a very good put down but you judged it by who you thought wrote it and not on what was written. And stop being rude about JohnA, you will upset him.
