The BBC is to pioneer new interactive technology in its coverage of this year’s Glastonbury festival. Viewers can press the red button to trigger visits from BBC employees who will throw buckets of mud over them, charge them £25 for a tofu wrap, invite a small Irishman to harangue them about global poverty and then nick their telly.

Thomas Sutcliffe wrote a piece about festivals in the Independent the other day.He compared sitting at home watching them on TV to '..arriving at the airport with an economy ticket only to be told you've been given a free upgrade to first class '

Brilliant Sutcliffe comment. Missed it because I avoid anything about festivals in the papers because its usually vacuous toss about ten essential pairs of pants to be seen in, etc, etc, now that Glastonbury is a sort of musical version of Hello! magazine.
