The Sunday Express is to name a tabloid rival as being the main cause of low house prices across the UK.
The paper's 19th June edition will carry a leader that effectively blames the Daily Mail's constant speculation over why house prices aren't rising as fast as they'd like, as the main reason behind the problem in the first place.
"We've carried out a 6 month investigation into this topic and the findings are clear." says the paper in a news release. "It is not within the Mail's interest to see prices rise, as that would lead to a lack of articles and therefore nothing for the paper to print."
"It is clear to us and the evidence we've seen that every time property prices seem to be about to rise, the Mail prints articles pouring cold water on the research and instilling doubt in people who want to sell, and that keeps prices artificially low."
The Daily Mail has dismissed the claims as 'fantasy' and suggests the Express should stick to what it does best 'concocting stories about Diana, Princess of Wales'.
