The stakes have been upped in the Most Unwelcome Managerial Appointment contest today as Birmingham City seek to dislodge bitter rivals Aston Villa from a seemingly unassailable position. Diouf, widely regarded as one of the most hateful men in football, was the natural choice according to a spokesman for City owners, Birmingham International Holdings.
“We were initially just looking for a filthy, spiteful, evil man that all the fans could complain about but when the chance came to appoint someone who’s been described as lower than a sewer rat, we were delighted,” he said.
Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner was said to be furious but the City spokesman laughed, “I bet he’s only spitting feathers, not real phlegm like our man.”
