Following Nick Clegg’s unexpected success in saving the NHS, David Cameron has persuaded the Lib Dem leader that, as a significant force in British politics, the Lib Dem party really should have their own Project Volvo. Announcing the decision earlier today, Mr. Clegg said “Following discussions with the Prime Minister, it seems the Lib Dem party has now reached the stage in its development where it should have its own Project Volvo. Mr. Cameron explained how Labour’s recent such project had such a major impact on their own party and how it would help both the Lib Dems and the country were we to start our own. As I will be tied-up rescuing the NHS, David suggested Chris Hulne might undertake running the project. Whilst I cannot be involved in the day to day running of the project it will have my full support”.
In a press release, Mr Cameron’s Office said that the project has the full support of the Prime Minister and the entire Conservative Party. “We look forward to the Lib Dem’s Project Volvo coming to a fast and successful conclusion. They will be receiving our full support in the running of this project”.
