Many congratulations to rickwestwell who romped home to victory in the May Writer of the Month contest. Having looked good in the paddock for some time, rickwestwell finally proved his pedigree with six front pages, including the excellent 'Mills & Boon's sex education textbooks criticised for glamourising the unquenchable fires of love-play', and a couple of NIBs. He is now in line for a handsome payout of china drinkware, before being put out to stud.
Although rickwestwell led from the front throughout, he was pushed all the way to the line by Golgo13, who mustered four front pages, and impressive newcomer waylandsmithy who scored three, and who we understand was the Queen's bet. Both are entitled to a frolic in the winner's enclosure and to a lump of sugar. Sadly a number of other writers fell early in the race and had to be destroyed.
The standard of stories has been excellent of late, so many thanks to everyone who contributed last month. As a special thank you, you are all invited to host the 2026 World Cup.
