He only 'phoned back twice more.

I've had a couple of these calls recently even though I'm not yet in my eighties. On the last one the guy said "Are you aware, sir, that your computer has a serious problem." to which I said "Of course I am, do you think I'm an idiot?" and he put the phone down.

My mate Mike is a computer doctor. One of his clients had a similar call. He rang Mike to say he didn't need him as he had had a fortuitous call and given the "Microsoft engineer" remote access. He had already lost hundreds by the time Mike got to the house.

I got a call today saying that there was a note somewhere that I had had an accident at work within 3 years that wasn't my fault. Bit worrying as I haven't had the accident yet. Doubly worrying as I own the company.

After the umpteenth one of these calls, I said to the woman, Sorry, I don't have a computer... in fact, I don't have a phone! My God, how you are talking to me?! She hung up and hasn't rung back.
